The Deerfield Inn was built as a country inn in 1884 and stands at the heart of the mile-long main street in a National Historic Landmark village. Our restaurant & tavern, Champney’s, is named after a local artist who was a pioneer of expressionism and photography, and also an abolitionist and a supporter of women’s suffrage. An interesting and talented man with a great love for Deerfield which inspired his work, and we feel he deserves to be honored by us.
We are a farm to fork spot and make everything from scratch in our kitchens. We honor and respect our local growers, farmers, and foragers and believe in eating the view so we can enjoy this rural farmscape for generations. We make our own infusions for the bar, support local microbreweries, and welcome all to gather at our New England table.
